Chabad of S. Barbara to Hold Community Wide Prayer Rally in Support of Israel
S. Barbara, CA, July 17, 2006 -- In response to the worsening situation in Israel and the Middle East, Chabad of S. Barbara will be holding a community wide prayer rally tomorrow night.
As we write these lines our brothers and sisters in Israel need our prayers. From the kidnapping of our soldiers, to the rockets fired into Safed and Haifa; our hearts and minds are one with Israel. It is a very tenuous time for the Jewish People. Our homeland is under attack. A constant threat of terror hangs over our Land. From the kindergartener in summer camp, to the soldiers fighting to protect our country and all of the residents in the Northern part of Israel – we stand in solidarity with Israel.
Rabbi Mendel Loschak of Chabad on Campus will lead the service, including recitation of Psalms and candle lighting.
The rally, taking place on Tuesday, July 18, will begin at 7:30 P.M. and will conclude promptly at 8:00 P.M. It will be held at 6047 Stow Canyon Rd., Goleta, CA 93117.
This event in is continuation of Chabad of S. Barbara’s response to the worsening situation in Israel. Rabbi Loschak has called on community members to pray for the safe release of the Israeli soldiers being held in captivity by Palestinian terrorists. Rabbi Loschak has also encouraged community members to increase their performance of good deeds ("mitzvot") for the hostages' release. Chabad of S. Barbara has also set up a special webpage AVAILABLE HERE to encourage this campaign.
